From the King's court, wqas dispatched an explorer. His mission was to scout out far-away lands and create relationships with England. No Longer would England be a fiefdom, it was becoming a world power.

Ethelbert, a man worn by war and his rough environment, paced towards a small row boat with which he was to cross the channel to Calais in Flanders. He pulled his animal skins up to cover his cheeks, the cold air illuminated through his breath.

In his boat were many supplies, beef (being a favourite of the common Englishman at the time) and much Ale from Celtic and Saxon brewerys.

As he rowed off into the mist, he gave his wife and his young son one last wave, a tear strolled down his cheek and his wife began to cry.

He rowed now for Calais, and wherever the road may take him form there on...
