The Pope waded slowly into the Council, flanked by two monks. "Why have I been called here, Avitas?" asked the Pope, slowly and feebley as an old man would.

"Good, we are all gathered..." Avitas started. "Now, we shall make our plan for the current situation. Lord Pope, I bid thee to send out word to the Christians of the world to destroy these heathens wherever they are found. And I ask my generals what our plan for the moment shall be?"

"My plan was to reclaim Sicily, and, after gaining power, we should seek a truce." "My lord," Objected Tarquis, the Chief Aide of the Emporer, "I doubt highly that the Vandals will make a truce with us after so much blood is shed." "I have a belief we can defeat them, and subdue their spirits. I do not want to spill more of their blood than it takes to ge tthe messege across though." Replied Avitas. "And Pontius, I wish to ask of you what you think of this plan? Do you think they would make treat with us? Though knowing you, you would go further, seeking to destroy them utterly. Though you are my most loyal servant, so your opinion must be voiced."

"My Lord, I believe that we should be cautious towards the vandal king. Is peace really possible with Claves? I do not believe so, but we may be able to risk a truce with the vandals. If he is a traitor, he shall die at my hands. But it may be worth making friends with him- for now.

"True, true...though perhaps he will not agree to a truce, after all, they wish for nothing less than the utter destruction of Rome." Avitas paused, listening to the silence of the room. "So, the doom is decided. I once again press you, Lord Pope, to ask all realms that call themselves Christian to attack the barbarians wherever they meet them." Then Avitas swept from the room, heading to his awaiting duties.
