Pontius sat up in a cold sweat, from nightmares of his caesar dying at the hands of the Vandal Prince, and the empire crushed beneath the enemy's feet. "No! I shall never live to see the day when my king shall fall to the Vandal bastards!" He grabbed his sword that lay next to the bed and, saying the lord's prayer, plunged it up to the hilt into his chest. He collapsed onto the bed, motionless, lifeless.
