Hengest's had always been a military mind, he knew that strong armies were the key to success in his empire-building. He drew out his plans, after looking into old saxon, viking and roman matters of military organisation. His reforms were as follows:
The English army was divided into two main parts, The Saxon army of Wessex and the Mercian army of Mercia. After further expansion, these may be added upon.
