A Frankish caravan arrived at the Allemanni capital, gaurded well by French Cavalry. A messenger led the entourage bearing a letter from King Roland I explaining that the caravan's contents - geld by the chestful - were for the Allemanni King. It read:
"Your people have shown their martial strength in battle, and have gained much honour in their war against Poland. However, it is always the case in war that moneys must be diverted to rebuilding after such conflicts - thus as a sign of good faith between Frank and Allemanni I send you this caravan of geld to aid in such an endeavor. We remain your honoured neighbours in these trying times."

Castin accepted this gift but wondered was it more of a payoff to stay out of any potential war and if this were true and the franks had this much to give away, how much could Castin take off of them in war...
