As the saxon emmissary arrived at Copenhagen, he noticed a level of granduer similar to London's. While both the saxons and, to a greater extent, the danes were both still considered barbarians by the Romans, such great cities were evidence that this lacked the truth it used to, as both civilizations had clearly advanced since the days of Teutoberg and the violent german barbarians.
The emmisary walked through the gates, and seeked audience with the danish king. The English needed assistance against Norway, as they were sure the danes did also.
"The Norwegians must be forced out of Britain," Hengest II had said, "As Britain is the rightful domain of the saxons,"
Of course, this was partly untrue, as they had not been granted Britain by anyone but themselves, but as the fervrent empire-builder Hengest was, he seeked to make this a reality.
***
As the emmissary entered the court of the Danish king, he bowed low, "I come from the saxon land of England across the Germanic sea, King Hengest II seeks an alliance..."

"My thanks, most noble King Grom," replied the emmisary to the dane. Clearly this proved that the christian stereotype of the northman was not true. The saxons and the danes had acted civily towards each other.
"But my lord wishes to discuss matters of Norway, their holdings in Britain threaten us, and I am sure you would wish for the Norwegian homeland yourself,"

OOC: They have no lord, can't be attacked yet, they're a playable nation, just so you know.
IC: Smiling at the danish kings willingness to co-operate, the emmisary continued:
" My lord asks that the British colonies be transfered to his control, whereas the Norwegian one will be in your control. However as for Stornoway, it shall be at first in Danish control, but if the saxon kingdom does expand as far as the Pictish city of Aberdeen, then Denmark should ceade Stornoway without a fuss, would you agree to the terms layed down?"
The emmisary said this with confidence, he was sure the danish king would not turn the offer down.

"Every Norwegian settler of pure blood, but those that have been there fore more than a generation, and have mingled with the picts in the region shall stay, and become British," replied the emmisary to Grom.
The emmisary met Grom's gaze, and looked to at his axe. It was well made and looked very new, with a splendid wooden handle. This was, of ocurse, testiment that viking blacksmiths were indeed experts. Lookign at the weaponry of the bodyguards, similar craftmanship was applied, although they looked more battle-worn than their kings.
"I think you shall find this acceptable," added the emmisary, half nervous about if Grom was hinting anything by looking at his axe, but sure that he was not, as the negotiations had gone smoothly, more so than expected.

"Hmm yes... that would be more fair, but now im feeling tired, i'll go to bed now, you can sleep for tommorow in the guest room, and take the next ship back to england, say to your king that i'll arrive in about 2 days, remember to give him the letter."
*Gorm walked slowly and tired with his axe out of the throne house*

The emmisary stood for a while and took this chance to look round the hall. The masonary was a mixture of stone bricks and wooden frames. The stones looked rather dirty, although well-made. The vikings obviously had good masons, as well as blacksmiths.
Overlaid over parts was adorned white banners, upon which was the black hawk of the vikings. Swords and Axes were crossed behind shields in coat-of-arms along the wall also, it was decorated like that of a grand warlord.
He looked around and asked the open question: "Where shall I be sleeping tonight?..."

*A guard came over* "Follow me!"
They walked out of the Throne Hall and walked left over to a little stone house, the guard opened the door
"Here is your room, goodnight"

"Goodnight," replied the emmisary as the wooden door was shut without another word. Inside was a bed covered in skins of animals native to Scandanavia, and beside it was a small primitive wooden table. Upon which, was a candle. He walked over and sat down on the bed, and set the candle alight, it flickered well and lit up the previously dark room.
A table was present in the cnetre of the room, upon which was a wooden plate and a single peice of what he assumed was beef. He feasted well, before finally going to sleep in his bed, after putting the candle out, of course.
*** The next morning he awoke and made his was to the docks, where he boarded a ship and returned to England.
