The messenger grew impatient with the lack of reply, and left with disgust.
"Negotiations of alliance can wait, if the king cannot even muster the manners to reply."

Thunderwulf finally arrived, and laughed to himself. Trust the norwegians to blow tings out of proportion. He had better plans, with better peoples, and bigger things. He sent a man to catch up with the messenger before he rached his homeland.
"King Thunderwulf sends his sincerest apologies, and as a token of our good meaning, we would like to give you vienna. However, you must swear not to attack us for this, and be our ally. What say you?"
This casual handover of one of his key cities must confuse them, he though. Excellent.

The messenger looked coldly at the Ostrogoth man, suspecting a trick.
A few days later word arrived to the Ostrogoths that the norwegian king had accepted.
Vienna was theirs.
