It had been a long journey by sea, across the channel, through the celtic sea, the Bay of Bayeux, down the West of the Iberian peninsular, through the Straits of Gibraltar and across the African Coast. However, the King had finally reached his destination: Carthage. *** The Saxon king and his entourage looked rather odd in the city streets. Hengest was wearing a chain-mail hauberk and a scarlet cape, which fluttered by his heels. His boots were of leather and the trousers he wore were brown. He had black gloves and steel gauntlets, upon which was the Wesex dragon. His sturdy belt had a gold, celtic centre piece, and in his tartan scabbard was housed the Sword of the former Welsh King, King Caradoc. His Guards were similarly dressed, but carried large round shield, painted both Yellow and Red, and carrying spears, adorning steel helmets with eye and nose guards. *** The group made their way towards the Palace, and knocked at the door. "King Hengest of England has arrive, allow us to enter!" barked one soldier in earl English, the startled guard allowed them enter and they were guided to the throne room, the spears were taken from the guards but Hengest kept his welsh sword. " Greetings, My noble ally,"

"Ahhh Hengest, it is an honour to finally meet you. Please may I get you something, perhaps food or wine?" he said in heavily accented English. "It is good to see my ally accept my offer of hospitality. Surely you must know that even though we are greatful for your coming, we are pressed in time as my armies have suffered greatly at the hands of the Roman invader."

"We heard of this in the streets, but have no fear, they shall be crushed. I have travelled a long way to talk with you friend," said Hengest, arms folded behind his back, "The Romans have, undoubtedly earned christian support, and the Roman Emperor and his puppet the Pope of Rome shall be basking in praise from their allied nations, the Franks and the Visigoths namely," Hengest paused for a moment before pacing and begining to talk in a much more serious manner, a dakr expression came over his face.
"The Christians seek to destory my way of life, and of my allies, their monotheism threatens our security. Strike them as they celebrate the victory! Hundreds of Danish ships are lined up for the invasion, King Gorm commands them. We shall bring war to the usurpers of humanity,"

"I have no quarrel with the Franks or Visigoths so long as they stay out of this conflict. I have dispatched emissaries urging them to do just that, Rome has had one victory now, but they shall need many more to stop the storm that awaits them. Of course any support is gladly welcomed. What is your situation for now, hopefully not as depressing as ours" He said calmly as servants brought in wine and fruits, Agrixus took a glass of wine before offering it to the others.

"Saxon troops pour from Dublin into the rest of Ireland, hoping to encorporate tit into our kingdom," said Hengest, sitting down now. He took an apple and bit into it, before speaking again.
"Support you shall receive, I am loyal to my allies and wrathful to mine enemies. I shall send geld, as warriors having to travel all that way would be in no condition to fight, disease would run amok,"

"Geld would be most useful. My armies were near decimated in the battle at Messana, As soon as I can spare anything I will send it to help your expansion, though I fear I may have troubles with the Visigoths after Rome, they seem stubborn. What are your relations with the Franks?" Sipping his wine and sitting at the head of the table.

"They seemed flexible in our meeting, they promise they mean no harm but the christian god is a treacherous one, and I fear we shall feel their wrath at some point. We are, however at peace in this current day, but no further shall our relations go. I am not soft on christians..."

"So I have heard, but your peace with the Franks I believe is necessary for now. My emissaries report them to be honourable, even for Christians, a pity the Romans have learned nothing from them." He chuckled a bit and sipped some more wine "I know your Kingdom is busy but I am planning a harvest feast, surely you would stay and join us for that?"

"Well that is true, I will have rooms made ready for your mean and yourself, make yourselves at home and feel free to explore, we will talk more later when you are rested."

"Then state your terms, I have discussed much of what I wished for the moment." he finished his glass and refilled it.

"Whereas the franks cause us no harm at the current time, their northern feifdoms of Flanders and Normandy look tempting to the saxon eye. Recently talks of a coup were about in Normandy, but this has died down and the duke has reinstated his iron ruling. Flanders is weakened by the feudal obligations it must fulfil and if the Franks are distracted should fall without hastle,"

"I have heard rumors of a Danish invasion of France, that may give you your opporotunity to do what you plan. Though be wary the Franks will be prepared to defend their provinces and we cannot help you with this. How are things to your North, I hear the Scots are seeking to take more your island."

"The Scots shall be stopped, have no fears concernign them, they are a weak kingdom of strong peoples, It woudl take a great and pwoerful leader such as myself to take them to greatness,"
