Name: Christiana Fida Clementia (Modern: Christina Faith Clemency)
Gender: Female
Age:28
Political Affiliation: Empress Of The Eastern Roman Empire (first official female roman ruler)
Personality: Very Intelligent, Iron Willed, Can be both Gentle or Cruel depending on the situation. Though not military or
tactically minded she often makes the best choices in hard situations.
History:
Christiana Was Born in Taranto in the Western Rome Empire. Born the only child of a wealthy widower high in the social
ranking of both Eastern and Western Empires Christiana was privileged to things few women of the era had, such as Schooling in both reading and writing, Political training, teachings in multiple language etc.
Wild in her ways as a youth she could often be found playing in the mud or fighting with local boys instead of learning the
ladylike work of sewing, weaving or dying. From this her father found much amusement but as not to loose face within his circle he consented to sending his wild daughter to a monastery in Rome. For these years of her young womanhood she
could often be found getting in trouble with the strict Nuns or sneaking out at night to join the more free and rebellious
youths in there nightly gallivantings.
When Christiana was the age of 17 Her father was killed in a pirate raid on one of his many merchant trading ships this
event forever changed the young woman’s life as she immediately left the monetary and was quickly pushed into the life of prominence and politics taking over her fathers position and refusing to marry or have any man take advantage of her.
Being a woman in a mans world hindered her ascension through the political and financial arenas for many years but slowly
as her name spread and her dealings became the stuff of legends she blossomed into one of the two empires most prominent citizens.
After her 23 Birthday she decided that it was time for a change. Buying an estate within the Eastern Empires capital she quickly moved her political and financial fiefdom there to be closer to the center of the eastern empires power base.
Within the capital her influence and power continued to climb with a seemingly endless streak of success which eventually
came under the notice of Emperor Lucias Octavius the ageing and ailing emperor.
As of yet Emperor Lucias had gone through 3 wives and none had produced a child let alone a male successor but in the winter
of her 25 year the emperor having fawned over her from afar requested her hand in marriage.
Though she did not love the elderly emperor she considered the opportunity of possible benefit to her and so accepted.
For the next 3 years she grew to love the ailing man and he her but sadly no children came about from the union.
Three months ago tragedy stuck Christiana’s life as Her husband, the great Lucias Octavius, passed away in the night leaving her alone in the position of Empress.
Accustomed to power Christiana found herself momentarily overwhelmed by the ruling of the whole nation and from within the ranks many political adversaries of Lucias took the chance to bid for power. By luck and the grace of many who surprisingly sided with the young woman Christiana was able to maintain control and stay in power becoming the first female ruler of a roman empire.
Though Civil war and inner decent has riddled her carrier as Empress of the East she has been able to maintain control for
the most part and keep the massive nation known as the Eastern Roman Empire from crumbling like its western counterpart.
