"It is a great shame your feastivities have been cut short, Emperor." She said to Claves, "You are a good dancer and listen to your people." She added.
She curtsied once more, "And now I must depart. Thank you for your hospitality." She said, her aide returned to her side.
Ilsa politely nodded to the table still seated before she exited the banquet and returned to her horse.
"Roland, we are going to Rome?" Ilsa asked slightly uneasily, "Do you think it wise?"
She stopped steps behind him, her voice waivering slightly showing her concern.

As the boats were loaded, Roland turned and looked up to his fiancee, noting the concern in her voice. He offered her a reassuring confidant smile - one he was famous for when he had a greater plan in mind - before speaking. "My dear, we must. I must. Of your faith I do not know nor question, but I am Christian and thus must attend or lose more favour. At this time, our empire cannot afford such a thing. It is necessary for the future - our future." He paused, stepping closer to her horse. Reaching out, he took one of her hands from the reins and brought it to his lips, kissing it gently while looking her in the eyes. "And the Christian lords must know of our marriage - I wish the pope himself to wed us, so none can dispute it's importance. Then together, as King and Queen of a new Empire, we will create a better world together..." Turning, he looked back to the boat - all was in readiness. "If you wish to stay, you may - I can travel alone, if you are more comfortable here with the others. I, however, must depart..." And with that, he headed for the boats, boarding it after looking to Ilsabella one last time. OOC: My next post will be in Rome - if you wish to come along Ilsa, then you can post boarding here then join me in Rome

Madhorse, who had been looking into his tanktard of beer for the last hour or so, wondering how it keept on emptying so quickly, felt his ears prick at he word "christians". Looking round the room, he noticed that Hengest was right, they were gone. "at last, bloody christians. Think there better than everyone else eh? and their pope, stuck up sheep! can't say boo to a goose, but when they want to, oh no, they get all rightious, pagan my eye! the viking religion is worth a thousand of theirs. I have a good mind to..."
at this point madhorse got very angry and had to calm down. He vented his anger on an innocent apple nearby, splicing it into halves.
Secretly he was also thankful that the chrisitans weren't there to hear him, norway being small and not as powerful as it used to be.

Hengest smirked, seeing the new Norwegian king shared his views on the Christian nations. With the North temporarily united in an odd alliance, the christians would be in deep trouble. He was sure, however, that the King of the Franks had spotted this also. He noticed the sly moves taken by the franks, and their merge with the Visigoths.
The Romans to, had turned to their old agressive means of defense. Hengest had heard word of both Vandal and Roman victorys on Sicily, as always, it was a very disputed island. Malta, however, was still firmly under the Vandal grasp, which meant an opening into the East Mediterranean, and therefore the Eastern Romans. Sensing the time was right, he began his speach.
"Friends, allies. The time has come. Word has reached this noble hall of a Norman Invasion on the land of our host. The Normans failed in their unprovoked attack on the Baeleric Islands. I, however, plan to attack he Normans in their homeland at the city of Cherbourg. Whomever wishes to aid me in this endeavour, it is gretaly appreciated,"

* Lucanío was very much pleased to see that the Christians had finally decided to leave. A faint smile appeared on his face and he suddenly felt more at home than he did before. He removed his heavy, brown cloak and pulled up a chair which he guessed no one was using... *

Hengest noted the Norwegian presence and willingess to join in at Cherbourg, for he thought that Cherbourg had just reason, and any excuse to srtike at a christian kingdom was a good one.

" It appears there is not, King Mottul. The Allemani respectfully have other obligations, but Gorm here seems to think it is a waste of time, not the most commonm attitude for a bloodthirsty raider I must say, Gorm,"
